1. Food Tour

 

Sardinia has an agro-pastoral soul: shepherds, transhumance, milking and cheese production are fundamental in the Sardinian economy and tradition. Cheese is always accompanied by wine. Cheese and wine, two elements always present in the traditional Sardinian cuisine.

 

During your tour:

- Discover landscapes and history of the agro-pastoral world of the Regional Park of Porto Conte and its farms. 

- Immerse yourself into the the authentic atmospheres of Sardinia, visiting the Museum of Sardinian Tradition.

- Relax and taste the typical and genuine food produced by local farmers (pecorino and ricotta cheese, salami, Carasau bread, Vermentino and Cannonau wine).

2. Wine, Oil and Cheese Tour

 

Do you know that Sardinia is one of the 5 Blue Zones in the world, places where people live longer and healthier than anywhere else on earth? The basis of this success is healthy eating, based on extra virgin olive oil, homemade cheeses and good quality wine, contact with nature and relationships with friendly people. If you want to try our recipe for long life this is the tour for you!

 

During your tour:

 

- Meet your local guides in Alghero. He will head you into the countryside of the Regional Park of Porto Conte, talking about the agro-pastoral tradition of the area and the great products of this day: wine, olive oil and cheese.    

- Enjoy the visit to a small, family owned winery, walking between rows of vines and learning about the different local grapes.   

- Understand the lengthy wine making process and the ageing, tasting 4 different type of wine, guided by the local expert.

- It’s the time of the extra virgin olive oil. Relax yourself on a small walk beside the olive grove, learning about the different quality of Sardinian olives, the traditional oil making process, the culinary uses and the health benefit of the “liquid gold”.   

- After this experience, we will change scenario, reaching one of the most traditional farm of our territory. We will discover the traditional and modern cheese dairy, talking about the production of sa vhrue, ricotta and pecorino (sheep milk cheese) production and their healthy nutritional properties.  

- At the end, enjoy another fantastic tasting of wine accompanied by the delicious cheese, salami and pane Carasau (local bread) produced by the farmers.  

 

At each farm there will be enough time to wander around the properties, take pictures and admire the astonishing Sardinian countryside, and to buy wines, oil and cheeses.

  • What is included: transport, guide (English, French and Italian speaking), tasting of local extra virgin olive oil, wine (6 different kind) and food (cheese, salami, local bread) and visit to the winery and the farm.
  • Special request: vegetarian and gluten free are welcomed.
